National Passport Day is coming Saturday 17 September 2011.  This weekend is essentially the rain date since Spring’s Passport Day was canceled. The State Department decided to set aside a day for overly busy and working men, women and children to visit their nearest office on a weekend to deal with all their passport issues- apply, renew, or add pages.

On July 10-12, 2011, food enthusiasts from around the world will descend upon the nation’s capital for the 57th annual Summer Fancy Food Show. The event will feature over 180,000 specialty products, 2,400 exhibitors and over 80 countries will be represented. Since 1955, the event has been a showcase for specialty foods and beverages such as, cheese, coffee, snacks and spices. Retailers, restaurateurs and others converge on the show to discover innovative food and beverage products.
